Wayanad
district in Kerala, with its lush green landscape mostly covered with virgin forests and mist clad mountains
forms
a special part of ‘God’s own country’. The
perennial streams and lakes
are unique of Wayanad.
The
Lakkidi lake, Old Jain Temple, Wild Life Sanctuary etc. are
important centers of tourists attraction.
It
was in the lap of this green district that the
Wayanad Social Service Society was established
in 1974 for the development of Agriculture
& Animal Husbandry, Community Health, Co-operative Credit Unions, Women’s
Development, Skills Development (vocational), Housing
etc.
